No cover charge to go into the bar, but the tours do cost money. They have multiple tours. You can use groupon to get vouchers for the tours at a discounted price.
Yes they do
Depends on what night you visit.
Street parking
The lady meeting / welcoming people at the door was outstanding the perfect person for this kind of exhibit. There was a lot of information you could spend hrs reading through the details but the shop is small and you feel like you need to just move on to allow others time to come in and visit. We were glad we spent the time and the money to see this place.
Unbelievably fast shipping! Lots of fun extras in the box. I’ll order from you anytime!
Very cool store! Loved all the things i bought (:
I worked here in 2005 until my car broke down. Awesome place, awesome people, naughty ghosts moving stuff around but more funny than scary. Lots of tourists bought voodoo dolls lol.
Place was cool. Guy working was not very friendly at all. New orleans has a lot of southern hospitality but didnt really feel it here tho.
The shop itself is great, there are tons of interesting items to buy. My complaint is with my recent palm/tarot card reading. My displeasure is not that I got a bad 'fortune' or anything like that, but rather than the reader started off the session by giving me his card for his self proclaimed failing art career, and proceeded to tell me multiple personal stories (that had zero relevance) throughout my reading. It felt like I was his therapist because he was going through a tough time. My other complaint that I spent the majority of the time feeling like I was just being taught ways to read palms and tarot cards, rather than have anything be read about me. I came here three years ago and got the best reading I have ever had. I was very much looking forward to getting another reading here because of this, but it was nothing even close to my original experience.
It was awesome. I understand them asking g you to not take photos inside, but at the same time I was disappointed. Its smaller than you would think, bit, packed full of all sorts of things. Completely amazing and worth the check out.
Super cool place to check out when in New Orleans. Definitely recommend this place to anyone not scary bring the kids it's neat!
As an extreme fan of any and all creepy, haunted, voodoo, witchcraft, macabre and mysterious, I found myself let down by this store. Sure there were trinkets, unfortunately many of which were from a 99 cent bundle on Amazon...I'm sure my expectations were unrealistic or rather found at the Museum of Voodoo... but I expected more high quality, unique handmade items from a store marked after the world renown Voodoo Queen 🤷🏼♀️
Really neat voodoo store. The place was pretty busy but there was enough room to move through and find some cool stuff to buy. We had our Tarot cards read in the back which was fun. The shopkeepers were nice and helpful. Prices seemed a little high but I think you should expect that when you go to "the" voodoo shop. I would recommend everyone to swing inside to at least check it out, Its a neat place.
An interesting but slightly eerie place to visit. The voodoo culture is fascinating and you’ll have to stop here at least once just to experience it.
Love this place but I do wish they sold more herbs.
Had a decent array of goods to select from. However things are kind of cramped but overall a decent place to check out.
This was a fun stop to make. I love history, even if it is only as accurate as those who write it. My curiosity is always looking for the next piece in the puzzle. I was reminded of my own spirituality, while adoring the tokens of others.
The energy of this place is so overwhelming (in a good way) you leave feeling so good! I visit every time I’m in New orleans! love love it!
It's okay. It is exactly what you think it is, and it's lost much of it's authenticity over the years.
The employees are super helpful and it was easy to find what I wanted, wonderful shopping experience and great store ambiance
Nice staff and a good selection of items. You are not allowed to take pictures inside and if you are leaving a offering please do so gently. The alters are precious and delicate.
A bit too commercial for me, but I wouldn't expect anything else in such a touristy spot.
Store is small, but has a good selection of things. From voodoo Dolls to herds, dream catchers.
Visited this place a few times while vacationing in New Orleans. Love it there! The vibe is just right and the people were friendly. I recently made a purchase online around Christmas time. Shipping took a little longer than expected but it was the holiday season sooo.. but overall love this place and the items they offer. We be returning in the near future! Thank you HOV!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff! It's definitely a little pricey(because tourism) but, a must see if you're on Bourbon Street.
Staff was friendly. Lots of stuff to look at, and learn about. Kinda costly but understandable considering they gotta make money and are a specialty shop. I picked up a few oils and some beads.
We were greeted and helped as soon as we walked in the door. very wonderful establishment. We'll definitely come back anytime I am in New Orleans!
This a really interesting shop in the heart of the French Quarter. Worth the visit...
Very comforting atmosphere and really enjoyed the items that were for sell. Wiccans and Witches can also find neat things for their craft. ❤️
Super awesome experience and the staff was very kind! Lots of great trinkets and gifts to pick up, and if you have time, make sure to get a reading! 😎
It is a cool place. Is it authentic it sure looks like. But i wish the people were informative. The have all kinds of things.
I gave them 5 stars because of the ambiance and quality. However the staff at the register was rude. I get being overwhelmed by the millions of tourists that walk through the shop on a daily basis. The thing is if you want your customers to spread the word, to come back, or even look at your website you need to be nice. That being said... they have a wide variety of occult items. It is quaint. Try to go early to avoid the mad rush that seems to swarm them in the afternoon.
Had a very wired experience In The back room definitely felt a weird vibe people that worked there did amazing with me let my know a lot of information around in store I feel the swing door in the back and a huge gust of win flung a door wide open in the back where i was standing happen right after I said a ouija board was not wanted in my house got a very illness to me and left room. Came back did it again the feeling very mind blowing people in store believe I had a bad Spirit in my present very crazy they did awesome on helping me to keep that stuff away
It felt very gimmicky. I was looking for a real authentic experience, perhaps my expectations were too high.
Very creepy and unusual, I absolutely love it, great service and that Louisiana voodoo vibe
Love, love, love this place! So many different and unique items that you can find here. The employees are usually friendly and helpful. You can get a reading here if that is your thing or shop for jewelry, candles, wooden masks for home decor, voodoo dolls and SO much more. If you've never been here try stopping in at least once just don't take any pictures inside. They don't like that. 😊
Very cool store. Love the old altar. Would recommend to definitely stop here when in New Orleans.
Very cool and interesting stuff in there. I've never been inside a shop like this! Definitely a place to stop and look at for sure.
An amazing spot. Lots of goodies and beautiful altars. Do not take pictures here! Nice and helpful staff
Had so much fun in here!! Great selection of trinkets. Such a helpful knowledgeable staff!! Went there a few times while visiting
Very cool shop. Insanely expensive, so just go to look.
This place has a very unique feel to it, definitely not your typical souvenir shop. The prices are reasonable and they have some really cool stuff. I will visit it again the next time I am in New Orleans. One word of advice: take a side street that parallels Bourbon, such as Royal, and then cut over to get there. Bourbon Street is a hot mess (unless you want to navigate a crowd of drunk tourists).
Great place. The atmosphere is spooky and fun.
Absolutely amazing. Every AHS fans dream
I loved this shop. A lot of cool items to check out and a definite must see if your in the quarter.
Favorite Store when in town. Visited During Mardi Gras . Really Good Selection. Good Vibes. So Many interesting items to browse.Made a cpl purchases 😉
Very nice very. Informative they were very helpful when it came to having knowledge kf the items i purchased
Bc of popular name, many ppl go here. Rev Zombies was good too but Your going to Get the same experience in Any voodoo place you visit in N.O. I ended up getting a Reading at HEX after reading reviews and WOW, Ellie was spot on. Amazing how accurate she was!
Probably one of the most authentic voodoo shops I've seen yet. Very cool merchandise and definitely things you wouldn't see at any old shop. And the staff was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!
Lots of cool and creepy merchandise. The alter inside is wild and spooky. Don't go if you are in a rush. The place is usually packed with people and hard to maneuver in the store.
I was in NOLA last month and this store was a planned stop for me. I agree that it is a little touristy but still a great store with some good finds. I visited the city with my dog and was able to get into to the store with no problems. I was able to give my donation and respect to an alter that was situated to the left and browse around in peace without anyone asking me to leave because of my pup.... though I was carrying him in his tote by that point. I would recommend asking if you can bring your dog in before simply walking in purely out of respect. If i had a complaint it would be the size of the store and that is a little small for the amount of tourist traffic that they receive. I can't imagine visiting the middle of NOLA heat.
Such a cool spot to stop by if your visiting and want to take home a souvenir worth buying. Or just to check out the history and culture or New Orleans.
Did not enjoy New Orleans at the time, but this place made it worth the trip. If you like voodoo or just have a varied pagan interests then I totally recommend trying to find this place
